List of services provided by the library.
1.) Help choosing "reading for fun" books.
2.) Assistance finding books for classes, homework or projects.
3.) 20 computers are available for student use - before or after school, during classes as reserved by teachers, or during "Study Hall" as they are available.
4.) Help researching on the Internet, or in our own collection.
5.) Guidance in finding reliable sources on the Internet.
6.) Assistance with citing sources and creating bibliographies.
7.) A School Collection of over 13,000 volumes between fiction and non-fiction titles.
8.) Hold 2 Book Fairs each year, coinciding with our Conferences in the Fall and Spring.
10.) Coordinate the school-wide "Battle of the Books" each year with the winners moving on to the District "Battle."
12.) Usually have 2 - 3 Author Visits each year.
2013 - 2014 Author Visit: Joan Bauer, author of Almost Home, Rules of the Road and many other novels.
2014-2015 Author Visits were: Cinda Williams Chima, author of the Heir Chronicles and Thanhha Lai, Newbery Honor writer of Inside Out & Back Again and award-winning book, Listen, Slowly.
2015-2016 Author Visits: Cal Armistead, author of Being Henry David; Gordon Korman - author of over 50 books including Ungifted and Masterminds - Criminal Destiny.
2016 - 2017: Susan Moger, author of Of Better Blood; Marion Blumenthal Lazan (Holocaust Survivor) and author of Four Perfect Pebbles, a memoir of her experiences as a young child who survived a death camp in Germany; Jonathan Stroud, author of the Screaming Staircase (a 2017 Illinois Caudill Nominee); and Jennifer Nielsen, author of A Night Divided (a 2018 Illinois Caudilll Nominee.)
