Eleven D.202 musicians selected for ILMEA All-State event

Plainfield – Eleven District 202 high school student musicians will participate in the annual Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State Student Programs for Band, Chorus, and Orchestra in Peoria on January 25-28, 2023.

Participation in this event is one of the most prestigious honors in high school music in the state.

These student musicians from Plainfield East, North and South High Schools were named to the state program:

Plainfield East High School

Band

  • Raymond Fang, junior, All-State Honors Band, Baritone Sax

Choir

  • Hayden Izumi, senior, Bass 2, All-State Honors Chorus
  • Sandy Mikhail, senior, Soprano 2, All-State Honors Chorus
  • Daniel Sarmiento, junior, Tenor 2, All-State Honors Chorus

Composition Track

  • Alan Bota, senior, first place (Avant-Garde Electronic) & third place (Electronic Dance Music)

Orchestra

  • Hayden Valkema, senior, All-State Honors Orchestra, French Horn

 

Plainfield North High School

Choir

  • Sajdah Anani, junior, Soprano 2, All-State Chorus
  • Aanya Krishnan, junior, Alto 1, All-State Chorus
  • Rylie Ruggirello, junior, Alto 2, All-State Chorus
