Today marks the end of quarter 1. Overall, it has been a success both behaviorally and academically. Quarter grades will be posted in Home Access on Wednesday afternoon. Please log on with your student to discuss his/her grades and classes.
As a reminder, Spanish 1 is a two - year long course so you will not see a grade on this report card. In addition, Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 Honors are a year long course that posts grades at semester so you will not see a grade on this report card. Both courses progress can be viewed on the Home Access Center. |

Friday, November 1 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, November 4 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
All conferences are scheduled through the same site, PTCFast.com, to make conference scheduling as easy as possible for parents. Please enter the following web address into your browser or click the link below: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Heritage_Grove_Middle_School_3
A list of teachers at Heritage Grove sorted by grade will appear. Each name is followed by the subjects they teach. - Begin by selecting one (or more) teachers you wish to schedule a conference.
- Follow directions as instructed on the screen.
- PTCfast will send you a confirmation email with a link to choose appointment times.
- On that same page, you will then be able to add additional conferences, change your registration, or change/add additional appointments.
- You will have to repeat the process for each student, if you have more than one child at HG.
We recognize there are limited time slots available for our staff compared to the number of students. If you have been contacted by any of your student’s teachers and/or your student continues to struggle academically, behaviorally, or socially, we welcome this opportunity to work together to help your student find success at Heritage Grove Middle School. Know that all parents are welcome to sign up for conferences, but if your student continues to have timely work completion and earn As and Bs on assignments and assessments without major struggles at home or here at school, it is not imperative that you schedule a conference. |

We will kick off our annual fundraiser on Nomber 6th! This year we are trying something a little different. It will be a similar format, but our PTO is taking on the massive undertaking of planning and implementing an event that will allow our school & PTO to keep a large percentage of the donations verse the former program that kept a significant amount of the profits. When information comes your way, please remember, all money from fundraisers go back to our students through student incentives, Husky Store support, offsetting fieldtrip costs, 8th grade Promotion gifts, author visits, building enhancements and more! |

Self-DirectThe first Wednesday of each month our students engage in a lesson focusing on character and social-emotional learning. This month our focus is Self - Direct. Self-Direction is the ability and learned skill to cast a vision of future goals and then take intentional steps toward who, where, and what we want to be. Instead of focusing on things to control or avoid, we emphasize our responsibility to make positive choices related to our emotions, attitudes, and actions. (ckh) Click for the At-Home Guide. |

Tuesday marks the beginning of 2nd quarter. All tardy and electronic device infractions will clear and students have a fresh start. Please continue to encourage students to be in class on time and prepared. Also, remind students that phones/airpods are expected to be off and away throughout the school day. |
|
Our students have new Chromebooks that have working batteries. Please make sure students are charging their computers each night. If they do, their computers will make it through the day without needing to be charged. They defintiely need nightly reminders. We appreciate your help.
Starting 2nd Quarter, we will be using our HERO system (same as tardies and electronic device management) to communicate and track Chromebook loaner usage. This includes if a student forgets his/her computer or comes to school with a computer without a charge. Like tardies, students will not receive a consequence until the 4th incident. |

Homework Link in Google Classroom - All grade level classrooms have a link where teachers can post their daily homework. This is helpful with organization and work completion for our students.
HAC - Remember to keep an eye on your student(s)' Home Access. Not only can you see their current grade in each course, but you can also see the gradebooks to check for missing work. Classroom teachers will use the following codes when entering grades: AB: Student was absent; is expected to complete. (no effect on grade) EX: Student is excused - does not need to do the assignment (no effect on grade) NHI: Student did not hand assignment in.
